The Phantom Ship, a legendary vessel in the DLC 'Uncharted Journey' (미지의 여정), can't be bought from a shop. You have to sink an enemy phantom ship to get a treasure map, dig up the blueprint and build it yourself. This guide covers those 3 steps and the required materials in order.
How to obtain: Sink → Blueprint → Build
Health: 9,200
Build time: 4 days 4 hours
Camp funds: 750,000
Special weapon: Auto-homing bolts
Prerequisites
The ship-related quests open after you finish the base game's main quest 'Howling Hill' and progress the Greymane camp expansion quests. International guides say you get your first ship by following the quest line 'To a Wider World' that appears after this prerequisite flow. If you can't see the starting quest, first check whether any camp expansion quests remain.
Step 1 — Sink an Enemy Phantom Ship in the Silent Sea
Sail southeast from Delesia to reach the Silent Sea in the eastern sea, east of the Great Reef. The enemy phantom ship has no fixed marker and appears as you roam the waters. Before setting sail, assigning crew roles on the ship management screen is the most important step.
Crew Assignments Before Sailing
Fill every gunner slot. A ship with no gunners can't fire its cannons.
Assigning a carpenter repairs hull durability during combat.
With a first mate, the ship holds its heading even when you take your hands off the helm.
Combat Tips
Stay side to side and keep firing, and when the enemy ship sinks, enter the wreckage and pick up the treasure map. International guides report that focusing cannon fire on one ship and leaving repairs to the carpenter was the most stable approach.
Step 2 — Dig Up the Blueprint on Irya Island
The spot marked on the treasure map is a buried chest on Irya Island, far south of the mainland. You can't open it without a shovel, so be sure to bring one.
From Delesia, sail through the southern sea and the central waters and keep heading south to see the island.
Land, dig at the spot the map indicates to get the chest, and read the blueprint from your inventory.
The blueprint is a treasure item with a sell price of 1,316, but don't sell it, since you must read it to unlock the build mission.
Step 3 — Build at Stoneward Harbor
Reading the blueprint creates a 'Build the Phantom Ship' mission at Stoneward Harbor (translated name). It demands camp resources and marine materials at once, so gather them in advance.
Build Requirements
Dispatch 10 companions, build time 4 days 4 hours
Camp funds 750,000 / camp stone 45,000 / camp lumber 45,000 / camp food 90,000
5 Natural Pearls, 10 Giant Jellyfish Hides, 30 Obsidian
Where to Get Materials
Giant Jellyfish Hide drops guaranteed, 1–2 each, from Giant Jellyfish and Giant Poison Jellyfish. Natural Pearls drop from Pearl Moss Crocodile (5%), Megalodon (3%), Giant Ray (3%), Black Whale (2%) and Giant Jellyfish (1%). Obsidian can be mined at 5 per vein from ore veins on sea islands such as Bergel Island.
Performance and Features
It is listed with health 9,200, speed 4, acceleration 3 and handling 3. Its biggest feature is homing bolts that fire automatically at enemy ships without player input. The DLC's legendary ships are this Phantom Ship and the Eastern Assault Ship.
Phantom Ship vs. Eastern Assault Ship
Phantom Ship: Health 9,200, speed 4, acceleration 3, handling 3. Features auto-homing bolts.
Eastern Assault Ship: Health 12,000, speed 5, acceleration 4, handling 4. Uses dragon cannons and a turtle-head bow cannon.
Both cost 750,000 camp funds, 45,000 each of stone and lumber, 90,000 food, 10 companions and 4 days 4 hours to build. The only difference is the three marine materials.
Check Before Building
Shovel: You need a shovel to dig up the buried chest.
Crew: Check that the gunner, carpenter and first mate slots are all filled.
Camp resources: Check at the camp storage that stone, lumber and food meet the requirements.
Marine materials: Have 5 Natural Pearls, 10 Jellyfish Hides and 30 Obsidian in your inventory.
Common Sticking Points
If you can't see the phantom ship in the Silent Sea, remember it has no fixed location and roam slowly within the waters. If you sold the blueprint, the build mission won't open, so the safe habit is to read it as soon as you open the Irya Island chest.
💡 Tip: If you sell the blueprint before reading it, the build mission won't open. Check your shovel and inventory space before leaving for Irya Island.
