Charting the Unknown adds five ships, from the first small vessel you build to the large Hernandian ship. As of Nov 7, here are the prices, cargo slots, crew roles, gear vendors and craft recipe locations in one place.
Ships: 5 (rowboat, 2 small, medium, large)
Purchase price: 2,000 / 40,000 / 1,200,000 / 6,000,000 Camp Funds
Inventory slots: 6 / 14 / 14 / 22 / 36

Prerequisite: Finish Howling Hill, then expand Greymane Camp
The Five Ships at a Glance
Humble Rowboat: 2,000 Camp Funds, 6 slots
Small Greymane Ship: built through a port mission rather than bought, 14 slots
Small Hernandian Ship: 40,000 Camp Funds, 14 slots
Medium Hernandian Ship: 1,200,000 Camp Funds, 22 slots
Large Hernandian Ship: 6,000,000 Camp Funds, 36 slots
Two Ways to Get a Ship
You can build one. Open the world map, pick a port, go to Details > Missions and choose Small Shipbuilding, then send five comrades with the Engineering skill. English guides list Stone 600, Wood 600, Provisions 1,200 and 10,000 Camp Funds, and the build takes 12 in-game hours. Collect the ship at the same port and talk to the Ship Manager to set the crew. Or you can buy one: Fleet Office managers in Vellua (Hopkins at the Grace Estate), Demeniss and Delesyia sell ships for Camp Funds. Medium and large ships can reportedly also be built through Delesyia dispatch missions, but we could not confirm the materials or time.
How to Unlock Sailing
Finish the main quest Howling Hill and establish Greymane Camp.
Complete Expanding the Camp in the Greymane faction quests. One guide says to play it as Kliff.
When Into a Wider World appears under Charting the Unknown in your Journal, start with A Call from Beyond the Horizon and build the small ship.
Crew Roles
First Mate: steers when you leave the helm; required to sail.
Rigger: improves sails and speed; required to sail.
Lookout: marks reefs and fish schools; required to sail.
Carpenter: repairs hull damage faster.
Gunner: fires the cannons in naval combat.
Deckhands: handle fishing and island pioneering dispatches.
Sails, Cannons, Figureheads and Sterns
Talk to a Ship Manager and open Manage Ship to install gear. According to English guides, sails, side and prow cannons, figureheads and stern parts are sold at the Demeniss and Delesyia Fleet Offices; prices and stats differ between sources, so we left them out. Some parts come from recipes instead. A Korean Inven post says a chest through the ceiling hole of the temple under the sea ruins west of Illiya Island holds two blueprints for steam-and-clockwork figurehead and stern parts, and the stern is the booster that offsets headwinds. Reports also place the Pale Curved Sail recipe in a chest inside the shipwreck hole on Samora Island and the Sea King's Cannon recipe in a chest under the wreck. Materials and stats were not listed.
Which Ship Should You Pick?
Cargo slots are the biggest difference. Start with a 14-slot small ship for farming and dispatches, then move to the medium and large ships as funds allow. One community post says the three large ships (Hernandian, Demeniss, Delesyia) cost the same, paid as 12 gold bars' worth, with overall ratings of 5 for Hernandian, 6 for Demeniss (turning-focused) and 6 for Delesyia (speed-focused). Treat that as a single report. A destroyed or lost ship can be repaired or recovered from a Fleet Office or Ship Manager; one case in Vellua cost 19,880, but the price is not fixed.
💡 Tip: Fill all six crew roles at port before a long trip. Crew can only be changed in port.
⚠ All prices are Camp Funds from English-language guides; the official Korean term was not confirmed. Cannon upgrade stats, gear prices, medium/large build materials and per-ship health and speed differ between sources and are omitted. The large-ship comparison comes from one community post.
