Part 2 of the story walkthrough covers going from the Wasteland down into the underground research site Altess Levoire, getting the second Hyper Cell and returning to Xion (some story details included).
The goals are to go to the Wastelands, enter Altess Levoire and retrieve the second Hyper Cell. The forbidden underground site opens after EVE learns Xion's condition and agrees to help Adam. Push Square notes this section plays more like a third-person shooter.
Getting to the entrance
On the way south through the Wasteland, a red box beside an elevator holds the Eagle Eye-Type Exospine.
Clear a side group of enemies and smash the boxes behind them for a Body Core from a body.
You must beat Quiel one-on-one at the entrance, then ride the lift she guarded down into Altess Levoire.
Route through the facility
After meeting your first Infector, a camp sits in the next room's right corridor.
Floor puzzle with PlayStation-button tiles: in Sector A07, step on triangle, circle, X, square in that order.
The next room has a camp on the left of the corridor.
Solve the laser room with movable mirrors, then take the lift to the Top-Secret Research Complex, where a camp waits at the bottom.
When trapped behind lasers, clear all Naytibas and restore the elevator's power to go up.
After the laser room, clear the Hive, scan the body down the corridor for a passcode and use it on the locked door you passed.
Air Vent and Maelstrom
Through the passcode door, shoot the glowing orbs in the Air Vent to stop the fan. Follow the walkways up a ladder and a supply camp sits to the right. At the end you fight the boss Maelstrom, and guides tell you to target its weak points. Defeating it nets the second Hyper Cell.
Combat tips
Shoot the red pouches on enemies' hips; they hold explosives that deal heavy damage.
Clearing enemies before a puzzle room can earn EXP and simplify it.
Take the laser room slowly and learn the pattern.
Mission 5: Light of Hope
Return to Xion with the second Hyper Cell.
Go to the Presence Chamber and talk to Orcal.
Talk to Adam at the Safehouse to finish.
Visit shops and the bulletin board to prepare before heading to Matrix 11.
