A Stardrop permanently raises your max energy by 34. There are seven of them in total, each with its own condition, and several are easy to miss. Here is every source, based on the Stardew Valley Wiki.
Effect: +34 max energy (permanent)
Sources: 7
After eating all 7: 270 to 508
Storage: Cannot be stored; eat right away
What a Stardrop does
Eating a Stardrop permanently increases your maximum energy by 34 and fully refills your current energy. It does not restore health. You cannot keep it in your inventory for later, so it has to be eaten the moment you get it. You start with 270 max energy, so all seven bring you to 508.
All 7 Stardrop sources
Stardew Valley Fair: buy one for 2,000 tokens
The Mines: treasure chest on floor 100
Your spouse or roommate: given at 12.5 hearts
Krobus in the Sewers: 20,000g
Old Master Cannoli in the Secret Woods: give him a Sweet Gem Berry
Willy: letter the day after you earn the Master Angler achievement
Museum: donate all 95 items
Easiest first: Mines floor 100 and the Fair
Start with Mines floor 100. The Stardrop is in the treasure chest and needs no materials. Next is the Fair, which needs 2,000 tokens, so plan to earn plenty at the Fair games. If you fall short, you will have to try again at next year's Fair.
Sources that take longer
Krobus: 20,000g, so it is a mid-game purchase.
Old Master Cannoli: bring a Sweet Gem Berry, which you need to grow ahead of time.
Willy: requires the Master Angler achievement, usually the slowest of the seven.
Museum: needs all 95 artifacts and minerals donated.
Spouse Stardrop notes
A spouse or roommate gives a Stardrop at 12.5 hearts. You can only get this one once, even after divorce and remarriage. In multiplayer, a gift box with a Stardrop appears at each married player's home after the wedding.
💡 Tip: Collecting all seven unlocks the Mystery of the Stardrops achievement. Grab the easy ones first and pick up the rest as you progress.
