Cooking does more than refill health and energy: the right dish also boosts fishing, mining or farming. Based on the wiki, here are useful buff foods grouped by purpose, with ingredients, durations and where to learn each recipe.
Getting started: Kitchen after a farmhouse upgrade, or a Cookout Kit at Foraging Level 3
Fridge: 36 slots, usable directly for cooking
Buff rule: Only one food buff at a time; drink buffs stack separately
Longest duration: 16m 47s (Maple Bar and others)

Cooking Basics
Upgrade the farmhouse once to get a kitchen with a stove. Without it, a Cookout Kit works from Foraging Level 3. The fridge has 36 slots and its contents count as your inventory when cooking, and a Mini-Fridge works the same way. Only one food buff is active at a time, so eating a new buffed food replaces the old one, while drink buffs stack separately. Qi Seasoning makes a dish Gold quality: health and energy up 80%, sell price up 50%, buffs up one level (not Speed) and buff duration up 50%.

Where to Learn Recipes
The Queen of Sauce on TV: reading the cookbook teaches every recipe from the show, including ones not yet aired.
Villager mail: Emily, Pam, Shane, George, Willy and others send recipes at 3, 7 or 9 hearts.
Skill levels: Fishing, Foraging, Mining and Combat levels unlock some automatically.
Shops: Gus at the Stardrop Saloon sells Triple Shot Espresso for 5,000g, and the Dwarf Shop in the Volcano Dungeon sells Ginger Ale for 1,000g.
Which Food for Which Day
Seafoam Pudding gives the highest fishing bonus but lasts only 3m 30s, so for long fishing sessions Fish Stew or Lobster Bisque at 16m 47s is more efficient. In the mines, Miner's Treat gives Mining and Magnetism together, and the defensive Eggplant Parmesan helps on long stays such as the Skull Cavern. Fishing Level 3 is enough to cook Dish O' The Sea, and its ingredients are just Sardines and Hashbrowns, so it is easy to reach early. Remember that Speed can be layered separately with drinks like Triple Shot Espresso.
💡 Tip: Only one food buff counts, so decide the day's dish first and add a drink for extra buffs.
